Does anyone elses bike do this. I get a little seepage around the tach cable (I think that is what it is). I have ridden about 200 mi since last oil change and I have not noticed any signifigant loss of oil.. Should I worry about this? Seems like I remeber that it always did this..

it doesnt leak alot, but when I first fire it up a little oil has dripped off the cable onto the exhaust, and it smokes for a minute... But like I said, I checked the oil level and it is not low, it is right on the full mark....

I thought only harleys dripped oil! .. 8)

My guess is that someone lubricated the tach cable at some point in history. The lubricant has found a way out via gravity. It may be dark like engine oil, but not likely engine oil. Just dirty tach lube/oil.

Considering the thousands of times a minute that silly thing spins around, it is amazing they don't wear out in a couple of months.
