firstly, just because on average men are stronger does not mean in every town across the states there is not a woman stronger than the other men in the town that want to be cops.  so if you want the best, well, you're gonna have a woman sometimes.  kick the streotypes.

secondly, if women are good at dealing with testosterone (you said it, not me), and they have better social skills than a man, wouldn't you want a woman cop to show up at domestic disputes, writting a speeding ticket to an angry person, talking to people about public saftey, and any other social aspect of a police officer's job?  now i realize you probably like the show COPS a whole lot, but that isn't what police do most of their days.  women can do just as well (and based upon your stereotypes of the intellectual differences between man and women, a better job) at the plethora of activities that cops must engage in during their normal daily routine.

Ah, a refreshing reprise from the usual post.  You ARE right, in some situations a female "negotiator" would be the better choice.  BUT, what happens when the talking doesn't work and the husband goes wild.  She can't stop him.  And if you NEED another officer there, a man, for backup, then isn't she less valuable than the man?  And if it's always a man/woman team and the woman can't handle the physical part then isn't she again less valuable?  Unless she does ALL the talking to compensate?  I can't think of many women who could take me down if I was enraged.

You see, I believe in getting the best to do a job and not letting just anyone who wants to, do it.  Ibelieve in equal opportunity.  If you're not as good as the next guy you lose.  I don't believe in artificially stacking the deck to give someone an edge.  I believe in meeting standards and not different standards for different people.  I believe in equal pay for EQUAL work.  If there is some part of a job you can't do, then your pay will reflect it.  I'm very much for fair treatment.  But that also includes what's best for EVERYONE as a whole, society.

I brought up cops, firemen, military, because I have some experience there.  I've seen standards lowered JUST to get women in the door.  Instead of carrying 150lbs now it's 70lbs.  If I'm out cold in a basement, I want that guy who carried at least 150lbs bringing me up.  I've seen women come in right off the street and take the "cushy" jobs that in the past men had gained through years and years of seniority.  Why?  Because they couldn't handle the tough physical jobs that were the starter jobs.  So, tell me, why should these men have to "suffer" doing the heavy stuff so a woman can "join the team"?  As an equal?  I've seen the problems of a single female in a group of men.  Where there was a tight knit comradeship, it was destroyed as they jockeyed for her favor.

Again, a society that works WITH the natural way things work is better than a society that twists and pulls to "fit" people in where they don't belong.  Woman need to do what they were MADE to do and men should do what they were MADE to do.

You're all against me here because again, you think EVERYONE has the RIGHT to do ANYTHING they want as long as they don't physically hurt anyone.  But the welfare of your society doesn't seem to be important.  The welfare of those forced to "cover" for the slackers that were "forced" into positions because of equal opportunity laws.  I've seen offices "forced" to hire deaf people and 50% of the job was over the phone.  Guess what, the deaf got the same pay!  What is this all about?  It's about quotas.

You know it's one thing to blatently discriminate against a race or sex for no reason.  But it's another thing altogether to "force" somebody to hire someone who is not as good as another because of their race or sex.  Too many laws are kneejerk reactions to problems that weren't really problems on a grand scale.  Someone made a lot of noise and the law is changed for the benefit of a very few and the detriment of many.

Men want to have sex, often.  That is how women keep us interested.  Human women are the only animal receptive all the time.  We do our jobs for two reasons.  The ego thing.  We identify ourselves through what we do.  I'm a mechanic, I'm a banker, etc.  A good job is a status thing.  Determines your social ranking.  Second, we work to get things to attract/keep a woman.  House, car, boat, bike, etc.  That's it.

The ones who are beautiful AND smart marry CEOs and live lavish lives.  They then divorce and take half.  Then they travel the world doing whatever they want.  Like I said, they're smart.  Beauty gets them in the door and brains plans the future.

Joe, it was interesting that you said you couldn't think of MANY women who could take you down if you were enraged...so you must conclude that in a physical confrontation some women are definitely up to the task. Not all policeMEN are really that physical. With enough training even the smallest of people can take a larger more violent individual...IF they can keep their wits about them. In fact, most police forces, fire departments and the like, do have physical requirements that must be met whether male or female. Once again, the thread was not about whether a girl has bigger gonads than a boy (although I've met a few who I was sure they must! :lol: ). Instead it was; are women dumber. By the way, How on earth do you have the right to call ME naive?  I'd be willing to bet I've dated more women, lived with more women, and  probably married more women than you have. What I've said are the facts, you can deny it all you want.  That my friend is the underlying reason the sexes (yes in general) do what they do.  Live in denial to eternity for all I care.  Men want sex, women want babies and support to raise them.  That (besides air, water, and food) drives (sometimes very subtley) everything we do.  Women have very strong desires to have a baby.  In fact, their body changes afterward helping with their longevity.  Biology says grandmothers are good and helps them stay around longer.  Women without children die at an earlier age than those who have had children.

Let me tell you something.  You may remember that I said in another post that I'm retired but I have a "fun" part time job that I do for something to do?  Well I work with women, all women, 15-20 depending on the day.  And the customers, 99.9% are women, a hundred a day.  I've got literally hundreds of female acquaintances.  Thay all love me and we have REAL conversations.  Not the crap that goes on when they're on their guard.  Not what YOU talk about with them.  Nothing that they say in mixed company.  I hear what the "girls talk about", like I'm not there (like a man's not there).  You see, they feel safe with me and the environment, they tell me many things they can't discuss with their spouse.  We talk about husbands, kids, parents, joys, disappointments, problems at home, career, divorces, almost everything.  And no, I'm not some alternative lifestyle man hairstylist.  I'm the "grunt" who does the heavy lifting.  You know, the jobs that the women can't.

You assume that because I say men are better in sports and better for certain jobs that I hate women.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  I love women.  Just because I know their motivation doesn't make them anything less.  Hell, look at OUR motivation.  What could be lower?  Tell me, what's the first thing you think about when you see a woman for the first time?  Be honest.  Sex... would you or wouldn't you want to do it with her.  That is WHAT we as men are.  We can't help it.  Now, is THAT something to be so proud of?  If you're a man, yes.  At least a woman is more noble, she wants to make sure any future kid is secure too.  She's not out to just "hit and run".  Why do men get into relationships?  Because the sex is good, the woman is beautiful, and they don't want anyone else touching her.  If men could REALLY have their way we'd have a harem.  As we walked down the street we'd be adding to it.  Men want to have sex with ALL the women.  The pretty ones anyway.

What I don't like is changing the rules, the standards, forcing their way into something they're not supposed to be doing.  Hmmm, sounds a lot like ghey marriage huh?

I can't believe that last sentence. Do you have proof of that? And Joe, I don't think anyone is going to begrudge you that men can be more physically pumped due to the fact that we have testosterone in our bodies. Yes, it is a fact of life. But, if one reads your posts it starts to become clear that you are obsessed with the need to feel that women are inferior to men. I couldn't draw it and my wording was bad.  I meant they don't overlap DIRECTLY on top of each other.  One curve "lost" on top of the other.  One curve peak is off to the left or right of the other.  The bottoms of the "bells" most definately DO overlap.  Is that a better description?  And I'd be willing to bet that in almost EVERY testable catagory we'd see this.  Sometimes women scoring better (much better) than men, other times men with the advantage.  I'd bet there are very few things (maybe resting heart rate or breathing rhythm) where both curves would directly overlap.

My point was simply:  Men and women are not the same, not equal.  Sure they both deserve the same basic rights but not the right to do the same jobs when they physically can't.

The hurt is to me when their "rights" interfere with my "rights".  It does happen you know.  My hurt is paying tax dollars to support a group that shouldn't be here (illegal mexicans).  My hurt is allowing a travesty of a dearly held institution (gays changing the meaning of marriage).  My hurt is paying for the treatment of gays diseases that run rampant in their group.  My hurt is when a woman FORCES her way into a job she can't do and everyone else has to increase their work to cover for her while she "steals" the better positions others have worked years to attain because she can't do the other lower level jobs alone.  There are times when I'm directly "hurt" by these peoples actions.  Maybe not physically but at the least monitarily.  

Since when is it noble to let others do what they want at your expense?  Do you ALWAYS let others walk over you?  Take advantage of you?  Steal from you?  I'm sure you too have limits.  I have limits, I have lines I don't want crossed.  Your limits seem to be at a different level, a lesser severity than mine.  Again it is the action I can't accept not necessarily the person.  Why do we have such a problem in this country telling people NO?

I don't hate all white people but I do hate the ones who do home invasions.  I don't hate all black people but I can't stand the ones who blast rap "music" with cursing and derogative remarks so loud that my car bounces and my windows vibrate.  I don't hate immigrants but I do hate those who sneak into the country illegally.  OK, I don't like gays at all.  I don't really consider them a "class" of people.  I consider them mearly a group with mental disease like bipolar or depression who need treatment not encouragement.  I hate their trying to make us all accept their behavior as normal.  I don't hate women but I hate having them PLACED into positions they can't handle.

That is me personally.  My limits, my threshold, is lower than yours.  Why can't YOU accept me and my wishes for what I believe is the right thing?  Are my wishes unreasonable?

The loss to society is even greater.  Reducing things to the lowest common denominator.  Reducing the standards for the lowest person involved.  People who shouldn't be here taking 10 million jobs from Americans.  The mentally defective forcing us to accept their devient lifestyle.

All I do here is make points that have been shown to be true.  Nothing I have said here was untrue.  I can and have produced corroborating evidence supporting my arguments.  All I ever get back (except from a very few here, you, Laura, and 1 or 2 others) is "your stupid, you're wrong" and some crap about how they know someone different.  I expect that considering they're most likely in their teens.  I preech curves!  Sure there are exceptions, lots of them.  But GENERALLY it's this or that.  Everything is labeled, compartmentalized, whatever words you used.  Everything is put in it's little box.  That is what humans do.  That is how we keep track of things and understand relationships.  Only a retard who CAN'T doesn't label.  Look at what you are:  Kingdom: Animalia because you're not a plant or a fungus, Phylum: Chordata because you have a spinal chord, Class: Mammalia because you are a temperature self regulator... it goes on and on.  Labeling is what humans do.  Admit it.

I really do appreciate your "restraint", your candor, and your oftentimes thought provoking responses.  At least you read my posts.  Others either don't or can't understand.  I usually don't agree with what you say, but I can understand YOU from them and I think you have a good heart.  I don't know your age but I'd expect your views to change when you "move up" a bit and it's YOU paying for everything or directly affected by some of these groups.  When you're denied a promotion because a woman HAD to take that job because she couldn't do yours you may learn to agree with me.  Quotas suck for everyone.  They're not good for the company and they create animosity.
