Opinion on paint

Okay... I've got the undertail/hugger installed and the paint doesn't match. After running around with my friends the other day they think it's no big deal and I should just ride with the mis-match paint until I trade the bike off.. I've decided that's not good enough!

Here's where I want your opinions...

1. Paint the tail section blue and throw in the front fender and roll with an all blue bike...

2. Just paint the tail/undertail the same shade of white and order some new decals.

What do you think? I'm taking it apart Sunday and dropping the parts off to my buddy on Tuesday for the paint... I'm leaning in direction number one but I'm undecided... Please express your opinions, give me some food for thought...

Rock the all blue.  #1, and get a rear hugger.

The hugger is installed right now but I haven't taken any pictures since...

I'm thinking blue and tossing the front fender in as well...

Dlooney... They're from Aluzio motors in Brazil... do an ebay search under GS500R... Buyer beware... their paint doesn't match, the tail lamp bites and you have to do some modding to make it all work.. But it looks sharp after the effort... If you look through the general pages there's a good review of the parts by Jetswing, it has a link to the LED lights as well.

$250 for the undertail and hugger.. I spent about another $100 on the lights, couple bucks for connectors, couple bucks for dremel supplies, and I'll have to get back to you the price of the paint... probably $125-150

I think you should match the undertail to the white paint on the rear end.  White looks cool back there and that undertail really stands out with the white!

I haven't checked the price of the decals yet... Maybe I'll do that this afternoon.. Looks like a 50/50 split on opinions... I'm still leaning to the blue side, I'm sure if I go blue (when was the last time you heard a buckeye say that?) I'll at least buy a white suzuki decal for above the lights..

One of my concerns about the white is keeping it clean... Hell, I'll have to do that no matter what color it's painted..

Don't worry about keeping the white clean. I have a white undertail on my TLR and it really does not get too dirty. There are small pieces of road tar or tire that sticks to it but I keep a good coat of wax on it so it cleans up easily. It looks no where as bad as white wheels.
Common sense in not very common.
