Okay so i took conflicttheorist's advice and i emailed the guy on craigs list. he said the bike had a lot of miles on it (5100) you think i could get em down below 1200?

5100 is not a lot of miles.  that is like two years worth of summer only riding.  51,000 is a lot of miles.  Way too many.  Is he making that mistake?

This bike started at 2100 and he lowered it to 1650.  It has about 10,000 miles on it.
 If the other one has only 5100 miles, then that is a steal if you can get it at even the asking price.  Between 1000 and 1500 would be the going rate for almost any decade old GS with less than 20,000 miles on it, but it is rare to find one with only 5k miles.

You should also check out craigslist in LA and OC.

You have to ask how many miles on it.

You'd have to question someone's intelligence doesn't put the mileage in the ad... Not a big deal but definitely a major noob move.

I bought my 90 with a lil over 7k for $800.  Besides the pin holes in the tank, everything else seems great on the bike.

I paid 1400 for my 93 with 12k on the clock 2 years ago, it was pretty clean.  Ive since put close a grand back in the damn thing, oh well, now I might as well keep the damn thing for good.

The first link above is the one that is now lowered down to 1650 or so, and is no longer the hefty 2100.
