I wouldn't mind seeing a "best and worst" shop posting area here. I just spent an absolutely absurd day at Everett Powersports (Everett, WA). All I wanted to do was get new tires, which I ordered through them, put on. I even had an appointment. They tell me 2 hours. Seems a little long since I had an appointment, but hey, no problem.

Four HOURS later, after several other bikes who arrived AFTER mine (one by 2 hours) already had their tires mounted and had long departed, I ask "where the hell is mine?".  Still not done. They then tried to charge me 2X their phone quote (from $50 both wheels to almost $100!!-I didn't go for that). Then, when I actually complained to the manager cause I was starting to get rather P-O'd , they FINALLY finish my bike, then roll it out and it sat there for 15 minutes. So I then go in and tell them I've really got to get going, so let's wrap it up. I pay (after the price fiaso) and some guy comes out with a toothbrush (Im' exagerating a bit here, but that was the pace of it) and starts cleaning my bike. OK, nice, I appreciate that. But I really did have to go. By then it was approaching the friday hell Seattle traffic snarl. I was about the yell over the fence (and I NEVER yell) for the guy to wrap it up when he finally (40 minutes after I paid my bill)  rolls my bike out. Time in 11:20. Time out 5:00

OK, end of rant.

OK Seattle guys, who is a decent shop around here (preferably north end, but after today...)

The tires are great though- Pirelli  sport demons 130/70 110/70- thanks to all those informative posts here! Quite a difference from the stock tires and I haven't really finished "breaking them in"  yet!
mods: Progressive fork springs, DIY timing advance, Rifle fairing, K&N air filter, Srinath fork brace

you know, back in the day if I remember right they were known for doing burnies on your old tires before taking them off,

My girlfriend's dad just picked up a KTM 400 from Everett Powersports...and he says that's the only place he would buy from...but he's been going there since he was a teenager and he turns 51 in May.  When he was in there the owner recognized him from way back when...he used to race dirtbikes so he was probably in there all the time...that's the first bad thing I have heard about them to tell you the truth.  I'd call the owner if I were you because that's just ridiculous.  The motorcycle community talks about this kind of stuff and word spreads fast.  I'm sure he wouldn't be pleased to hear about your experience and you could maybe get some free mountings out of it.  They should have at least told you a time that you could pick them up.

Well, stay away from Aurora Suzuki for anything other than fork seals.  The only cool guys there work at the parts desk.  The salesmen and mechanics are slime balls.  They wanted to charge me $250 to rejet my bike.  I did it myself for $20 in parts.

I like the folks at RMC.  All around good experiences and you can get some good deals on close out gear sometimes.  They have the indoor track there for the kids and the place just has a really family friendly atmosphere feel to it.

Cycle Gear in Renton is also a great shop.  Mostly for gear and aftermarket accessories.  Don't remember if they carry tires but I bet they do.

Sorry I keep telling you about south end places but I just don't know any shops in the north end except for EP and Bent Bike...oh lord...

there is only one great shop I know of, and that is backroads triumph in Jax NC, they actually recomend a gs500e as a starter bike, and for regular customers, the beer frige is always open.

britt motorsports in jax, about 5 lbs of C-4 whould solve all thier problems, to them customer service is something that you get at burger king.

cycle country in salem OR, f%$king worthless, and thier parts people should all be shot, I called them to see if they had anymore face shields the other day, shure they siad, I drive in there, the guy can't find it in the pile of course. so they try to sell me a new helmet instead.

Bills motorcycles plus, is great lots of free tech info, and they don't care if you wonder into the shop to shoot the shaZam! and ask dumb questions.
sometimes prices are a little high but you always get what you pay for there.

salem honduh beemer duck,  odd size tires in stock at all times (no cheep tires) just don't tell them you ride a real bike.  and no beer frige

walker's cycle, (harley dealer) great C- service (while I was wearing my suzuki hat)  not good for much else

cycle sports inc. same as cycle country, but trying to become like britt
