ok.....so I just but a new yoke plate on my SV....it's from a previous generation SV and is a bit different from mine.....the ign is in the middle of the plate instead of on the right side of the plate.....

when I lock my forks they are straight ahead....as in apparently the ign is rotated from where it would normally sit on a standard SV.....so can I disassembe the ign at all (or easily) and either rotate everything inside, or the fork lock mechanism??? or should I contact a locksmith about this???

the other thing i can do is buy a new lockset/ign for the 1st gen SV and see if it's compatible with my bike.....the tank and tail locks should be interchangeable although the rest of the gas cap is different (I could just remove all the lock parts couldn't I?)....

so have I gotten myself in a bad spot or is this fixable??  I don't like the idea of having my forks straight when locked (as opposed to leanig right or left...)

PETE: No, it's not. It's funking Sunday. And I've got to go to funking work in four funking hours 'cos every other funker in my funking department is funking ill! Now can you see why I'm SO FUNKING ANGRY?

ED: Funk, yeah!

Why don't you buy a new top clamp?

I do not think that you can rotate the locking mechanism.

The lock cores can be swaped
Common sense in not very common.

that's what I have done....I put a first gen SV clamp on my 2nd gen SV....why??....because I got my hands on an LSL clamp cheap....it looks better, plus the risers are no where near as far back as the stock ones were....

....but the location of the 1st gen lock is centered on the clamp...the 2nd gen SV has it on the right side.....I may pick up a lock set off ebay for a first gen SV (it's a $10 now, but we'll see in a few days) and see what I can do....

...I may just swap the cores on the mechanism...but i've never done anything like that before....I don't know if I'm up for taking the chance of breaking mine as my SV is my only form of transportation......which is why picking up a cheap one off ebay to experiment with may work out....

thanx guys....
