Why does it smell like plastic burning!? Anybody have an idea!? Just started the bike up, it was just as normal as i allways is, drove about a mile and hit a traffic jam. Then as the heat started comming out from the fairing, so did the smell... Anybody!?

Check to see if it is the front fender or check the inside of the fairings. Make sure the heat shields on the inside lower fairing are intact. Also, check the header bolts to make sure they are tight, if loose, can cause excessive heat.

uhm... there are no heat shields inside the fairing anywhere... It's a gs500 k2, with a TCP fairing... Dunno if there's supposed to be any!? But everything looks just like new, nothing looks burnt or anything!

Btw... the header bolts, are the bolts you use to put the exhaust directly on the enigne, right!? (sorry, i'm from Denmark, not THAT much in to the technical english! )

could be your front fender.  Were you in slow or stop-n-go traffic?  When you're not moving, the heat can start to melt your front fender.  Could also be some spilled brake fluid or oil burning off the exhaust.

I'm very sorry... it's a K3, and I would say that the fairing goes all the way around... But never mind that, I also think it was just something stuck to the exhaust. The waranty is still valid, so I thought "What the Heck" drove it around a bit, and then took it out for about 30 miles at 90 mph... and now it smells just like it's supposed to! Sorry for bothering you guys with a problem wich wasn't there!
