Woot!  Yesterday i picked up my 2004 Yellow GS500F from out of town...  AWSOME!  what a crazy rush.  i dont know why anyone would want more power?   your faster then all the cars on the road, do you have to be faster then superman too?  anyways, i picked it up 264km out of town, and drove it home...  WOW, first, im canadian, so learning MPH is just a slight change, but when you look down, you doing 80-90 MPH and FLYING by peeps LOL its funny...  speed limit, 110km/h  me = 150km/h  and when passing 170 the highest i got it, and then only got scared because the bike was screeming 9500RPM and the wind in the lovely land of the plains "saskatchewan" is mean, so the bike bounced a bit.  but i had a 2004 250 Honda Rebel for comuter before this.  now that was a great cruser but accelleration was not there at all, this bike is doing the max speeds of the rebel in 2nd WOOT!

Anyways, thanks for reading my personal high post, and im sure glad i found this site, it made me decide to pick up the bike over well, every 500...

I know what you mean about the winds.  I'm a little south of winnipeg and the wind here is ridiculous.  I feel like I am always leaning 45deg into the wind.
It's a sledgehammer

Good luck with the bike.  You'll enjoyit.

I went riding on my GS with two guys yesterday.  A DL650 and a DL1000.
We were ripping.  Went on mixed highway and local roads.  Tell you the GS kept up most of the time.   Rode until 9:30 pm.  The GS is a pisser when you press it hard.  Revs never went below 6,000 rpm that night.
Mostly 7-9,000 rpm.

Congrats on a great choice and welcome to the forum. Enjoy the little twin and remember to give it a hug and a pat from time to time. Love the Baby GS and this forum.
