Hello I was wondering if anyone has done what I'm going to attempt. I just purchased a stock exhaust off a Triumph Daytona 600 from ebay for the huge sum of $1.99 Anyway my idea was to cut the pipe in half (to make it shorter and have more back pressure) and replace my stock exhaust with the Triumph. I know I will have to re-jet the carbs but has anyone else attempted this? Or do you think I should leave the Triumph exhaust alone and just re-jet? Tell me what you think :thumb:

I think you should mount it back wards, so you have a ram air exaust, and put stickers on it so you go faster

with enough beer, anything is possible. you whouldn't happen to be stationed at miramar whould you?

Altruism111

That's funny you ask me that. This is the second time in 2 days someone has asked me that. Is Miramar a Military base? Where is it? In Miramar Florida there are no bases of any sort..... Beer is good.....but not good mixed with motorcycles... :guns:

Yea we do shaZam! like that all the time ... OK you'd have to have some sorta flange but it will be sorta fine ... not as good as aftermarket can like wileyco or D&D ... but better than stock GS none the less ...
Cool.

I don't think you should have to cut or modify the can in any way, the daytona can is the same exact can that hyosung is using on thier 650 twin.
I think It should work well, since people use sv650 cans all the time without any ill effect. just thought i'd give you this bit of info. hope it helps.

I always thought if you cut the can and made it shorter it would decrease back pressure. Sorta like blowing through a long staw vs. a short straw.
