I think Ed lives in Globe AZ.  It's a long way out there from Phoenix, but the ride is pretty damn nice once you get outside the city.

So Ed, do you live out that way?  Is it cooler there in the summer???

I found 77 from Globe to Winkelman was a nice road even though there was a police presence.  It has nice sweeping curves with elevation change from 2k feet to 5k and back to 2k in about 30 miles and also has some cool geologic features.   177 from Winkelman to Superior wasn't as fun, but the road was nice and the massive coppermine was cool to see.  Damn near took me 4 hours including lunch and gas stops/breaks round trip.  Sadly my back hasn't recovered yet

I went on that i think two years ago with my uncle my dad and my brother.  My uncle lives in tuscon.  I remember the big mine.  It was a nice ride, I would definitly go on it again, but i do live 2 hours east of dallas.  Sorta far from me though.

 

Actually Ed I used to ride a cruiser and it killed my back.  Sportbikes were the only thing I could ride at all.
