Well...it's in my garage, but not my bike. My little brother bought a 2000 Katana 750 last night. I gotta say, I like the bike a lot more than I thought I would. Went for a short ride last night - it was raining and I didn't want to take any chances with his new bike. The Kat looks HUGE parked next to my GS, but it runs nice and smooth, very comfortable. It's in great shape too - looks brand new and only has 4K miles on it! It's that nice dark metallic gray color with NO graphics. I'll try to get some pics this weekend.

I always liked the Kat 750.  Very comfortable, good range and the motor is first gen GSXR technology which means it puts out around 85hp.  The Kat is always overlooked for what it is: a sport TOURING bike.  The seat on the Kat is well shaped, pegs in a more relaxed position and the clipons are high.

The only pain in the butt is that the fairing has to come off to do anything, and it isn't in 2 pieces like most sportbikes where you can easiy remove the lower half.

Yeah, I did notice the fairing has a hundred allen bolts holding it on. I like the bike a lot though, looking forward to getting some seat time on it! Especially since my GS is no longer daylong road trip friendly!! I think next winter it might be time to build a bigger, more versatile bike and keep the GS for those around town blasts and track days!

...I had one of those once....it was a real nice ride....a bit on the heavy/sluggish side (at least compared to my SV)....if the bike had a better headlight / front fairing, I probably wouldn't have gotten rid of it.....but such is life.....anyways....feelling retrospective here....so here's my old ride....

PETE: It's four in the funking morning!

SHAUN: It's Saturday!

PETE: No, it's not. It's funking Sunday. And I've got to go to funking work in four funking hours 'cos every other funker in my funking department is funking ill! Now can you see why I'm SO FUNKING ANGRY?

ED: Funk, yeah!

The Kat600 is hardly faster than the GS.  You're better off with the GS then you can graduate to a supersport 600  :thumb: or whatever you want.

Wow Mastrind, same color and everything!! Cool!! Funny you didn't like the headlight, I was quite impressed by it. Guess I've been messing with these aftermarket fairing lights for too long!! This will be a good bike for him, he hasn't ridden in 3 years and came off a little GS450. Big and sluggish is probably a good thing. He was looking at gixxers and frzrs, so I'm glad he got the Kat. Be a good bike for him to get comfortable riding on again, but should be powerful enough to keep him happy for a hile. It doesn't  seem to make much power under 7K, but feels good from there. Rode my buddy's S1 Lightneing today too...WOOOHOOOO!  Power wheelies are fun!!
