Quote from: Muldoonanyone ever replaced a fron brake lever?? :dunno:

Dude, my first stationary tip-over (of three so far ) saw the demise of my bike's original brake lever. I got a new adjustable one for $29.90. The only difference is that it only has four stops instead of six on the original, and the end doesn't have the cut-out bit that weakens it to make it break off instead of bending. I also could have got a non-adjustable one for $12.90. To install it you just have to take out one bolt, which has a 5mm hex head on top and a 10mm nut underneath.

Oops, it's actually a slotted bolt, which goes through the master cylinder mount. The hex-head bolt holds the two parts of the adjustable lever together.

Gentlemen (I use the term loosely),

It is with deep regret I announce the passing of my beloved first bike my 2002 Suzi GS500......

.....onto the Honda dealer who has kindly agreed to give her a new home and swap me for an 04 VFR800 (with a slight reimbursement to his good self)...

Pick it up on Wednesday....and of course its red !

If anyone's looking for an immaculate GS500, call Hawkesbury Honda (Windsor NSW) and see what sort of deal they can do you....Alternatively there are still a couple of 04 VFRs left at the bargain ride away price of $15,990....but I'm not here to poach any GS'rs

Anyways, I'll still post in here from time to time and maybe catch up with you guys on the next ride..

Cheers    :thumb:

Muldoon

Hi all, Ill give you an update on my beloved so far.
I was off the air cause I moved then things took their time to get settled and a new puter and all. So finally back on the air with wireless broadband! Its bloody magic.
My beloved has had her share of trials and tribulations. Being the expert and super sensitive rider that I am (cough cough) I noticed she was getting a little bouncy over the bumps. After a month or so of getting sea sick just riding to work I had them check the rear shock and it was cactus. Totally knackered with not even a little bit of shockiness left. So that was replaced under warranty, during which they managed to scratch the swing arm and bend the adjuster plate..... So it went back and they found the chain had a lovely big tight spot so I just had both sprockets and chain replaced and she now rides like a new one! Yeeehah! Looking to catch up with everyone soon. Whens the next ride??? Lets make some plans! Hey LW, whats been happening? Hows Ben and the beemer?

matt86to

Muldoon,
How may kms  have you put on your bike ? I thought you would get alest aound 30,000 to 40,000 kms before you need   to get a new chain man you must have done some really good rides
