I know, I know....  I searched "dogbones" and "lowering" & checked the FAQ's.  

Anyhow, my buddy is looking at  buying my GS500 for his wife, who has short little legs.  How much can I safely lower the GS to fit her?

Agree, about 2 inches, but no more.

My GS was specially low when I purchased it... I think that it's
due to a shock adjustment or defect.

I built 2 dogbones and coild raise it to the normal height in a GS500.
