If you think you shouldn't wear a helmet, then a wheelie is just what you need to be doing.

How to do a wheelie video, hope it helps for those interested.

do it in the grass...what are you talking about.  You wouldnt get grip.  also Dont wear a helmet.  Ok thats stupid, look at that one dude that crashed his gixxer.  But if you insisit on trying wheelies then go in first at about 15 and rev to 9 or so and slip the clutch quickly.  Also cover the rear brake that way you can save your self if you are too high.  [/list]

oh ya you want to see a wheelie, look in the wall of fame, im in there, the only wheelie pic, its on like page 7

oh ya popping a wheelie is just getting the front tire off the ground for a brieth moment.  and also, how long to hold the wheelie...What are you talking about there, as long as you want, I dont see why you asked that question when you cant even ride one.  But you probably stall your bike at every stop sign so youll never ride a wheelie.  Give up now.

You know, one of the things that I like about this forum is its friendliness towards new members. yes, it would have been nice had he (I assume he) used the search function but that isn't even your point and you're just being an @$$hole. Of course he doesn't know how to wheelie. If he did, he wouldn't have asked the question. If you don't have anything nice to say, shut up.

I apologize if my search comment was taken as a bad one. I provided a link as well to the previous topic, as well as a link to a wheelie 101. As far as the other comments, I think several of them are out of line...

well dont go too hard on 94suzuki500 , He has been through the ringer once or twice on this very subject and i can see he is attempting to pass on what he learned here as well as his own knowlege of the subject.

we have to work on the "how you say it" ok pal, kudos for trying though.

I think the idea of the Wheelie in the grass would come from somone useing a Dual sport/dirtbike. yes it hurts less to land in the dirt then landing on pavement. BUT, Dirtbike's are setup to run in Dirt, a street bike isnt. with us so far? good!.  you can wheelie a GS, most of US here agree its posible, but the GS isnt the greatest suited for it. you will end up hammering the hell out of the bike. Going from your posting, im going to recomend you DONT EVEN TRY it for awhile. If you worried about I love YOU and Girlfriend killing you, then you havent dumped a bike before cuz it will do a splendid job of killing you all by it self. get some miles and time underyour belt.   Your helmet comment tells me you dont have MANY miles OR years on a bike. please dont listen to anyone telling you to operate a bike without gear let alone trying to do stunts.

If you dont mind me asking, How old are you and how long have you been riding on street, what is your previous Motorcycle history dirt or street?

Or maybe how you quote it.  Cause in previous posts you have left out part of what I said to make it way different then what i originally wrote.  Thats what you did and you seem to be stuck on trying to get me mad or somthing by making comments about things in the past.  I may have not been the nicest to him but I have seen too many dumb post in these forums.  Sure there are smart ones and smart people but these dumb ones are sounding pretty pitiful.  But oh well maybe some people arent inclined in that area and deserve respect even if they arent as bright as others.

And what exactly makes him dumb? He was asking questions about what he had heard. If he asks the question before doing something stupid, that makes him smarter in my book. If someone asks a question before doing something stupid and then does it anyways becuase they didn't like the answer, thats stupid.

Personally, I'd much rather see a post like this than one that goes like this:

QuoteMy friends told me that I should practice wheelies in the grass without a helmet. I listend to them and I crashed. This is what I look like now. (WARNING: Pics not safe for lunch)

I guess i didnt make myself clear SOMEBODY told me not to wear a helmet and OTHER PEOPLE tell me how long to hold a wheelie. I wasnt going to go do  one tell i felt more comfortable and got some good answears form you guys. And the girlfriend and mom thing was a joke. Ive been riding for eight months now and ive got more then 4000 miles. Do my own maintainence work. And to the people who give me shaZam! saying im a noob and dont have anything better to do then to help me out, when i can do a wheelie and if i ever find you ill wheelie over your body. The rest of you guys thanks i trust your opinions and information/

8 months and 4000 miles isnt really a whole lot in all honesty, though i know it seems otherwise. if this is your first bike then your accutaly at a dangerous point in your riding history.  7-10 months is when the comfort level really starts to kick in a new riders, and can potentionaly be disasterous.  as stated before, Dirt dont hurt. if you want to learn wheelies it would be advisable to use a Dirtbike. If you going to do them on the street, i would sugjest you wait till you reach the 2 year 24kmile mark. get a little 50cc trail bike and get use to the feel of the ballence point.
