Many thanks to you all for the kind messages, thoughts and flowers. I appreciated them all and the flowers were just right, thanks John for organising that.

In the next couple of days my life will resume "normality" in many ways. I have, somewhat unexpectedly, started a process of what they now call "Life laundry" and I cannot forsee exactly where that will take me. It will not take me anywhere for a while as I have decided to take no major decisions untill spring 2006. The thought process itself is strangely liberating and very positive. On occasions like this we become acutely aware of our own mortality and the need to leave behind us more positives than negatives and with luck I have started out on that journey.

Could I ask John or one of the mods to leave this message for a week or two so that it can be seen by those for whom it is intended and then delete it along with the other related posts. Thanks again folks, let's enjoy the summer for us in the northern hemisphere and hope the winter is OK for biking "Down under" and get on with riding and the things that make life so joyful and worth living.

Hello Cal!  It's great to hear from you.  :)

The "no major decisions for a year" sounds like good advice.  That would give a person the chance to make a good number of small decisions and "course corrections" that can add up to larger ones down the road.

"Life Laundry"?  I'd like to know more.  My self (and my home and my shed) could use a good cleaning and de-cluttering.

It sounds like you're off to a good start.  Best of luck to you!  :thumb:  And say hello to the crew down at the docks, OK?

Sounds like you're on the right track. Hope everything goes well for you.

Wellwishes to you.

Hey man, no problem.  I made this a sticky and we'll leave it up for a couple weeks then take it down and remove the other posts if that's your wish.

It's hard for me to relate to what you are going through, but you are level headed and not making any big decisions right away is probably prudent.  This ensures the decisions you make aren't rash or folly.

Just don't hit up the sauce too hard.  I've been there and it sure seems OK at the time, but it actually leads to more depression and only serves to wear you out.

Thanks for letting us know things are going OK for you. That's comforting.  And I think we are all relieved that the flowers were to your liking.  I was petrified that I was ordering something wrong or overdone, especially that I was doing it on befalf of the members.  Cal you wouldn't believe how many members chipped in.

Well take it easy, and make sure you stop by once in a while till things settle down for you.

Cal I certainly hope things get better for you. Just take it one day at a time, and John's right, your doing the right thing by not making any rash decisions right away.

My best wishes to you.
