I just got back from Revenge of the Sith, and it rocked. Everything really does come together at the end, though some of the needed transformations to change from Revenge of the Sith to A New Hope were QUITE rushed. I hope a few other people on here saw it and can tell me if they agree or disagree. Either way, WHAT A MOVIE!!!!!!1!1!1!

A New Hope?
Oh yeah, the other title for "Star Wars".  Forgot they couldn't leave that alone.

I think it was called that when it was originally released...says that during the opening credits when the yellow text rolls up the screen.

I've even heard rumors about the movies being based on novels with similar titles.

Here's to hoping they re-make "A New Hope", "Empire" and "Return of the Jedi".  Please.

And here's to hoping that they leave them alone. Newer isn't always better. Personally, I think that the new CG caracters are amazing but the old animatronic puppets still look better.

I remember hearing rumors that the last 3 movies would be based on Timothy Zahn's "Heir to the Empire" triligy, which are awesome books IMHO. They're probaly just rumors, though.

But how awful was the casting in those three movies?  I mean, is it okay for me to hope that somebody kills Luke Skywalker?  And his "sistahhhhhhh"?  Anyway.

And in the new ones, it has been a joy watching Natalie Portman, especially in that white outfit she wore in Clone Wars (finally able to talk about this).

What??? you mean you didn't find princess Leia attractive even when she was held as Jabba's slave?  Man I did, especially when I was 12

I personally think the first three were far better than the first two, but can't say on the latest, I haven't seen it yet.  If I was to complain about casting, I'd say Jar-Jar Binks was the biggest blunder in star wars.

I am looking forward to seeing it, I hope its the best ever.

as i said in the other thread, i can only attribute positive reviews to some form of Stockholm Syndrome.  but at least it's over.

he already screwed with the original trilogy by doing the special edition.  let's hope to god he can leave well enough alone.

it wasn't as completely awful as Attack of The Clones or The Phantom Menace, but i still couldn't qualify it as good in any sense, except that it's over.

My GF didn't like either of the first two movies.  She almost considered dumping me because when I took her to the movie she felt like I was forcing her to give up her core values.
She ended up actually loving the movie, and it has inspired her to the the other episodes leading to Vader's redemption.
It was quite amazing.

IF you can look past the sorry acting skills of the Padme and Anakin then it's great.  It ties up all the needed ends to start a new hope.

The fight scenes are great, and for once, they don't cut away in the middle of a good fight scene for something stupid.

I think a bag of sawdust has more acting skills than Haden.  I think the on screen chemistry of those two work about as well as a circumcision with a plastic fork.

Overall, I give it  :thumb:  :thumb:

I re-watched episode II the night before last.  You're right.  Both Haden and Natalie are awful.  It is like the director said, "Your motivation for this scene is. . . oh, think monotone.  Not in a voice immodulation disorder sort of way, but make sure, Hayden, you raise your voice a little, keep it there, Natalie, lower yours as much as possible, keep it there.  Make no facial expressions, and feeeeeel it.  Let it flow.  But not in an emotional kind of way.  But deliver the lines.  The the script work."

episode two is much better when you skip all the ani-padme scenes.

When I saw the first original Star Wars movie I was three-sheets-to-the-wind. I sat through it about three times before I realized the movie was over. God I'd love to go to Mars. Love the little GS, Mars (was there ever life on that planet?), and this forum.

I saw the movie last night at 12:01.  It was awesome.  There was a woman dressed up and marching around acting like luke skyewalker...so I played with my little bros light saber....

Nope, when it was first released (I saw it in 1977) it was just called Star Wars and there was no subtitle when the text scrolled up.  The subtitle was added later for subsequent releases and for video, prolly because all the others were called Star Wars "whichever episode, individual title" and the original needed an individual subtitle to fit the pattern.

Revenge of the Sith didn't say anything but "Star Wars" either on the scrolling title screen.   Eh.

But what a MOVIE!!!

I loved it and I can't wait to see it again.  Amazing.

I now renew my wish for them to re-make the original three episodes.
