Yea Bought a maxim ... airmax as I have called it ... cos they also made a water maxim ... Love it. Heck its what suzuki would have built if they had an Iota of sense ... BTW anyone else with an airmax - or seca (bluknyt, vtnewb) ... what is that speedo drive type worm gear on the exhaust cam for on the thing ... It certainly dont drive the speedo from it ...
Anyway ... I am working on the flanges - yes no laser yet ... but on it ...

yeah, i got one of each, 82 650 maxim and an 83 650 seca turbo.  was gonna put the turbo engine into the maxim frame to make a sleeper outa it but just had a 94kat600 fall into my lap so the 2 yama's were going to get striped down for parts i wanted to keep then junked, but Dad called and said he would rescue them. well, lets see, got a GS for the corners, an XL250 dual sport for Digging, and now a 94katana600 for the little demon that comes around now and then. only need one more bike to complete the stable,   a large cc touring bike, with Radio, Huge windshield,cup holders, inner com, and little travel trailer hookd up on back.

And guess what else ... the damn YICS (WTF is that ... Yamaha Is Cooking shaZam!) ... has a funky ass plenum between the carbs and motor making the bike impossible to synch with vacuum ... OK I am glad at this point I learned eyeball synching and this bike is waaaay off OK a bit off in synch ... BTW is that of any use to us in turboing or somehitng ...

Nope ... my eyeball method is far superior than vacuum ... heck I can get a 2 cyl to run buttery smooth ... 4 cyl is far more forgiving ... No need for that tool ... BTW stuff a radiator hose in the passage and inside that hose insert a 1/2 inch SS rod ... This is just a bit more complicated BUT pretty effective Prolly. Eyeball ... I send peoples GS carbs out with eyeball synch ... and no one says its buzzy or vibrates etc ... heck I have heard a lot of other complaints ... never that ... No problem.
