I think that's the thing I enjoy the most about motorcycling.  I crashed a while back in the middle of nowhere and as I was rebuilding the GS's front end with a pocket knife, a guy and girl in a van with a Fox sticker on it stopped to see if I was ok, and offered me trail mix, a coke, tools, and a phone.  They didn't know me, but I had a bike so they made sure to help.  

Months later, I saw a Harley with out of state plates and a couple standing next to it on the side of the freeway so I made sure to stop and pass on the offer of help.  As long as we all do this sort of thing as a rule, we are perpetuating the love of the sport.  I think that's why I get so torqued about people "not waving at cruisers" or "I only wave at sportbikes"...  If somebody were on a sportbike stranded in the middle of nowhere and a Hog went by, they'd wish they had waved...

Anyway, not to get all sappy in public...  (Davipu's probably gonna throw an E-tool at me)

Nice story.  Really good to read it.  I like those days.

I remember last summer running out of gas on my GS,
and had not less than 10 Hog riders pass me with dirty looks,
before OF ALL things....

a Semi driver puller over and offered me a lift to the nearest gas station.

Problems on the road... HOG will not help.
This is well known in my part of the world.
Sorry to say this, and I expect that this is not true in other parts of the world.

As a two-strokes driver for years, I've needed several times
to stop by the road to clean my spark plugs or adjust a reed valve.
Never a Harley owner stopped by to offer help.
Some on-road bikers stopped by to offer help.
Lots of off-road bikers stopped by to offer help, tools or even a talk.
Some car drivers stopped too If the road was wide enough.

Luckily I could resolve all my issues, only 2 times couldn't repair the
bike:
- My two strokes broke a new drive chain that was just installed.
 I had to pull the bike 10Km to home. Cars and bikers stopped to help.
- My GS500 got water in the carbs after filling in a shitty gas station.
 Called for assistance and got my bike towed.

I've offered help, tools and gas several times.

My bike's in the shop being serviced and i won't come out of my apartment....haven't shaved in days and i smell funny.....i'm so jealous i just wanna...
