I did a search on this site for info on milling the head, but couldn't find any info.  Anybody know any info?

I'm new to the GS world and I'm hankering to start a little tinkering around on it.  I've already done the reflectorectomy, DYI timing adv., and signal stalk mod.  All of them came out awesome.  Thumbs up!

Any advice on firming the forks up?

One Idea I've got is trying to take a stock exhaust/header and fabricate it to mount on the right side to make a dual exh system.  What'dya think?  Anybody ever tried that?

AND....I checked my mileage yesterday after getting 211 miles out of a tank and it was 63 mpg.  Is it a fluke?  or the results of the timing advance (first check was 53 and now this 63).  All the miles are highway 70-80 mph.

Thanks,

Da Noob

Okay, the exhaust would go on the left to make a dual.  I feel dumb.

milling the head on this engine is not a good move, you run into clearence issues and timing chain tentioning issues.  boosting compresion can be more saflely done with Boring the cyl abit and going larger pistons. Cams help too but again the splayed valve postioning sucks for any kind of overlap and high lift. its a mess you dont want to get into. the GS is fun not because its fast, but mainly its handling abilities.
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.
Ride Hard...or go home.

Its you Vs the pavement.....who wins today?
