I put another 100 miles on the bike on the 24th.  It was a perfect day to do it.

I can finally wind it out when I get home this evening!  I could have done it last night, if the dealership had sold me the right oil filter - bad on me for not looking in the box in the store.

Oh, and don't feel like you need to post "action photos".  The interesting one of your Tach at 4500 rpm looks like you were on the expressway (at about 55 mph perhaps).  Be careful now.    We don't want to read any stories of accidents that include a yellow GS500F and someone named Roadstergal.

LOL how the heck did you get that pic to be so clear goin down the road.  Ive always wanted to try that but Im afraid I would drop my camera.

I just slung it diagonally, pressed the shutter a few times blind, then pulled over and stashed it again.  Pure chance.  The Rainier pic was from the side of the road - I hate pulling over to the side on the freeway, but there was a big truck stopped by the side of the road, and I figgered I was OK in front of him.

I really wish there were a good pullover point to get the view of the Snohomish river from I-5.  You go high above it, and it's so beautiful...

Your can't go wrong with a Tank Bag, a very useful accessory.  Have one, as well as a Tail Bag -- that one carries about a helmet's worth of stuff.  Both are easily removable.  (Sorry, drifted off topic...)

Hey, there are some good escape places in Michigan - I used to live in Chicago, and we spent some summers with friends up there.  And yes, yellow rocks.  

Which shot?  The first one was taken from the shoulder of the I-90 express lanes, the next three from Magnuson Park, and the last one from near the NOAA dock down by Health Sciences...

You are right, of course.  There are good roads and fine vistas here in Michigan.  

My problem is I'm not close enough to any of the fun places to get out there for an hour or two.  I've circled where the good roads are (that I know of):

• The Lelanau Pinensula (upper left)
• Huron National Forest (upper right)
• The Pinckney State Recreational Area (lower middle)
• and any road along the Great Lakes[/list:u]Still, there's a bright side.  If ever I can get away for a full 6-8 hours, all these places are within reach.  Would be a long day, but I'd enjoy it.  Oh, and I forgot that there's the hill country north of Grand Rapids that I've yet to explore. edit: Red circle in the lower left side of the map.
