Ok, so winter in Buffalo stinks. It's just perpetually dreary, windy, and freezing...

but when the warm weather hits, Buffalo becomes a really great place to be. Reason? Everyone is so beside themselves from being cooped up for months, that they take EVERY POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY to be outside that they can. SO, for the next few months, there are going to be TONS of outdoor festival-like things going on. One of the best is a weekly free concert held downtown called "Thursday in the Square"

One of the coolest parts about it, though, is that Buffalo is very MC friendly. The parking downtown becomes a nightmare for anyone driving a car, but They've reserved huge areas within the closed off concert space for bikes.

Tonight was the 1st concert (SOUTHSIDE JOHNNY & THE ASBURY JUKES!:dunno:), so everyone and their mom was in attendance. It's usually around this crowded however, so on top of the free music, and people watching, there's a weekly motorcycle show.  I only had my camera phone with me (640k), but in this recent spirit of photo posting, I thought I'd give you a glimpse into this unique aspect of Buffalo life.

Stephen,

I totally agree with you. Even if the band isn't that good, there's a certain energy that comes from live music that's always enjoyable.

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

They sure like those cruisers there, don't they?
I came here to kick @$$ or chew bubblegum...and it looks like I'm all out of bubblegum.

I think the Buffalo Wings (mmmm...wings..) make it necessary for your average Buffalonian to ride something more...:ahem:...gut-friendly. :P That said, folks around here take an awful lot of pride in their machines. Most every cruiser is absolutely GLEAMING. It seems like customization is a big thing too. You don't see Cruiser guys 'round here getting confused about which bike is theirs. Very unique stuff.  it's really quite a spectacle on Thurs. nights. Of course, there are lot of beautiful bikes of all sorts. I parked next to a Kawi ZRX1200R, and just a skip away from us was a STUNNING Duc 749. You're totally right though...8/10 bikes at the show is a cruiser, and virtually 10/10 of those are H-D's.
