So, I just learned how to ride a bike a few weeks ago, and i don't plan to do any stunting any time too soon, but i was just wondering if anyone knew the best way to get a GS500F to do a wheelie.  And for that matter ne other tricks I might dare to try?  I have always been interested in stunting, and i know the 500's aren't the best bike 4 it, but i eventually want to learn, and i met a guy who does stunting, so i might wanna learn more from him in the future.
Thanks
I'm Canadian EH!

Down one tooth on the front sprocket, then learn how to work the clutch and it will come up.  It should be a smooth transition when you release the clutch, it shouldnt jerk hardly at all if your doing it right, its pretty hard to do.

and make sure you have progressive fork springs in, or it will bottom out like the a good sh*t in the toilet
I never said a thing, it was only a rumour

Track days over a street ride any day!

Frost

VERY easy...first gear...go 5-10km/h (very slow)...then clutch in...rev to 7k RPM...dump clutch and hang on...

with practice you'll find the balance point and you'll be able to go on forever...
wileyco, K&N pod, rejet 22.5/65/147.5, F16 flyscreen, progressive springs, 15t front sprocket...more to come: katana shock

cover the rear brake.  and stand staggered with the right foot on the front peg and the left foot on the back peg.  It is less of a throw when you clutch it up because the bike rotates more than your body and its not so scary when it comes up.  rev it to about 7 like frost said and you should be fine.  It seems scarier than sitting at first but do it a couple times and it is way easier to find the balance point.  Also if you do get a bike that can power a wheelie I would not do it and try to find the balance point on a power wheelie.  It comes up slow and then when it gets about three feet off the ground it shoots up and can be scary for someone not expecting the acceleration and lift.    And anyways everyone knows powa wheelies are garbage.  be prepared to break stuff on the bike and also yourself.  but with enough practice you could possibly ride better on one wheel than most people can ride on two.  be safe, wear your gear.

Amazing  :?

Please read ALL posts about wheelies, how to wheelie, wheelie the GS.

Fact, being as it is SUCH a common question Posted By newbs, can we perm sticky all Wheelie posts into its own section? this is one question far beyond beat to death and always sparks up flame wars.
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.
Ride Hard...or go home.

Its you Vs the pavement.....who wins today?

I went down 1 tooth in the front sprocket and my bike still does 110mph, plus i can wheelie alot easier.  GIve the engine a few revs and dump the clutch, start from sitting down position, then stand ups, and if you dare high chair wheelies!
