Cool.

Harleys are easy..
I try and wax 2 or 3 a day..
Except for the v-rod which isn't really a Harley at all (made by porsche).. The only bikes that stand a chance against the v-rod are the 1500cc variety or larger..

Hey Pandy! Are you gonna join us for the 3rd Annual Bay Area GS Ride?

No this was a custom 113 CID monster ... he was the builder too ... I got wiped a few times with the GS ... and I kept telling myself that I will be riding the eli one day ... then that day came, and I got off the highway and to a light ... and he was waiting ... I pulled up next to him ... and at green I let him go and caught him and well past our respective turnoffs ... we were out for blood, all straight line, and we were well in the triples ... we both knew where each other lived ... he was 1 block over from my house ... His 80 grand+ pretty boy Harley got waxed with a $3000 87 eli 1000 ... and it looked like sheite too ...
Cool.

 Purple is for men secure enough with their masculinity that the bike color doesn't matter

Ok everyone, unless you are running low 14's or in the 13's you will get passed by a 4th gen Camaro/Firebird past freeway speeds.  If they aren't next to getting off the line, they will catch up AND pass you before that 1/4 mile is up.  It will be even more embarassing if you go from a roll.  Pretty much anything that traps better than 95mph in the 1/4 will give us a run or smoke us up top.  The decent e.t.'s of our bikes are due to the strong launch and the low trap speeds for our bikes are due to the low horsepower

cool Color   8) . yep I remember this once when I pulled up at the first set of lights & Look at my left & here was this young  guy & his mate in his V8 Comm they look at me & thought we can take this guy on this small bike (not knowing it was the mighty GS 500)  anyway we had a green light & we were off ( I let them win the first round) now this when the fun start waitting at the seconed set of lights I turn to them & nod & Warm the GS  a few time , The light went green again, I was off , I left them standing still I was about 150m ahead & only in three gear    they just did think that I would beat them :)

I would try for now with the new bike because I proble get the front wheel off the road

all the best matt  :) your friend

yeah...i dont know whats with cars and wanting to race me everytime...its not like my GS look fast or anything ...worried me everytime...dont like no tickets  :nono:...but i still smoke them off the line (poor guy with 05' 6 series bimmer   i only paid 1400 for my ride  8) )

they're like bulls, instead of being attracted to red..its the Purple GS paint that hypes them up

Best acceleration is NOT had by shifting right at the hp peak.  Best is to shift after the peak.  The trick is knowing exactly how far after - I'm not sure with the GS.

Just look at the dyno run on the site's main page.  Peak hp is at ~9k.  While it drops off after that, at 10k the bike is still producing more power than it does below 8k.  The trick is to upshift at the point where you'll end up at an engine speed below the power peak but where the hp is the same as before the shift - shifting earlier or later than this point is not ideal.

Of course we're kidding ourselves if we think this really makes any difference

i think the key is to look like your bike is fast....so tuck and take it up the first 2 gears....then let off like your not even trying.!!! and if your gonna race do it off the line....you will for sure hand some people their ass off the line....but on the highway a naked bike that has trouble going over 100 wont do you much. a stock civic does like 120....so.

The GS loses approximately 1,000rpm per shift. So if peak hp is ~9k, then to shift around 10k would be about right.

goat, you never got beaten by a v6 trans-am...there's no such thing.  Trans-ams are ALL v8s, and firebirds arev6's.  Unless it's a formula firebird, those are v8's also.

Kinda like camaros are v6's while z28's are v8's.
Something is wrong with my twin...all of a sudden it's V shaped!  Wait, no, now it's a triple!  ...and I IZ NOT a postwhore!

JetSwing

trans am = firebird = camaro = dinosaur
My hunch was right...Pandy is the biggest Post Whore!

JetSwing

they all came in v6 and v8s...

there's camero...and z28. but both are camaros...different engine doesn't make it a different car.
My hunch was right...Pandy is the biggest Post Whore!
