Trans Am is really just a package for the Firebird. All 4th Gen Firebirds not marked by a the TA badge is either a V6 or a sleeper. All those linked above are Trans Am models except for the '68, only because the Trans Am package was not introduced until '69.  

If it was a newer LS1 TA than its no suprise you got beat, my neighbors TA runs 12's all day with just a K&N stock replacement. They may be dinosaurs but if you've never driven a 6speed LS1 car you're definately missing out

Seriously.  I watched an '02 Z28 pull 335hp/345 torque on a dyno day and all he had was a lid, and catback.  In '01 all the LS1's came stock with the Z06 intake manifolds.  There were guys hitting high 12's on those model years.  The LS1 is no joke.  Plus the thing can pull over 30 mpg on the freeway.  Pretty damn good for a dinosaur, push-rod, V8 engine  :nana:
