I know I can check the floats on the bike,  but the carbs are off right now.  Ive been searching for 2 hours for what to set them at as a starting point and can't find it.  My manual has been lost.  Can anyone point me in the right direction.   I know its 14mm but cant remember where to measure..
oops,  you'll need a new one of them

I have been taught to make them parallel with the gasket surface as a starting point, but I already know that this will be too shallow, so to make it easier for you set the floats so that they are 1/2 an inch (13mm, okay 12.5 technically) at their highest point above the gasket surface when the float needle just seats.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?
