Help,  I have 1 pilot jet that wont come out,  any ideas how to get it out.  easy outs scare me.  seems like they always break...
oops,  you'll need a new one of them

This is a common thing. There are two methods:

1. First make sure you use a screwdriver that is small enough to fit down inside without nicking the threads. then use a hammer to lightly tap the jet enough to make the screwdriver dig into the brass jet a little. then screw out. (just be real careful not to damage threads)

2. use a reverse threaded drill bit or an ez-out to back it out.

I have not used method 2, since method 1 worked for me.

both will damage the jet, so be prepared to purchase a new one.

hope that helps.

I don't know if this was a fluke or what but here's what I did.

I took a TORX screwdriver that seemed to fit the best, tapped the handle with a hammer, then pressed down really hard and turned the screwdriver and it came out.  Again, it may have been a fluke, but it worked.

Yeah, watch the easy outs, I messed up my head with an easy out and had to have it helicoiled.

Good luck!

thanks guys,  Ill try the screwdriver or torx in the morning.  every time I use an easy out it breaks so I usually use that as a last resort.
