I"m thinking of trying either the superbike bars or maybe the daytonas, letters E or H.  I have the drag bars, but they are a little too short.

i'm running dirtbike bars right now (i think renthals), but they are too wide after the drag bars i had on before.  The bike is comfy, but feels slow to turn in, so i'm looking for something a little more narrow but not as uncomfortable as the drag bars.

That's all I put on the Gs's I fix up (The superbike bars).  Not quite as aggressive as the drag bars but a hell of alot better than the stock ones (Of course that's just my opinion).  You may have to fiddle with the throttle cable routing (so you don't get a throttle change when you turn the bars lock to lock..) but that's not unusual .

I always test ride the bikes for a day or so when I'm done working on them...So it's not like I put a 300 mile run on them but I like the way the bars feel...

Anyway...

Ya I just put those on a month ago.  Much more room to stretch out and a little more aggressive feel but not like clip ons.  Go for it!

I have some renthals that are narrower than stock ... KTM50 and YZ80 bars ... $40 each ... never used ... still has tags.

thanks for the input.  Like I said, I like the dirtbike bars, but they make the bike feel a little too relaxed.

how much wider than stock are most dirtbike bars?
and did they just come too far back and make the bike feel too cruiser ish?

The Daytona puts me noticably upright more than the stock bars, but I haven't noticed any "slowing" of turn in. Are your tire pressures ok?

Maybe I mispke when i mentioned how they felt.  It's just after going from the drag bars to the dirtbike bars there's a really different feel to the bike.  the dirtbike bars are taller and wider by a significant margin over the drag bars.  It's not so much the height, but the width that I don't particularily care for in these bars.  I guess I had just gotten so used to the ultra narrow drag bars that when i went to these bars that are even wider than stock the handling of the bike felt slower to me.  So it's not really turn-in that's slowing, I think it's just my perception.  I liked the more agressive feel of the drag bars but they were starting to make my arms sore.  I think i'm going to try the superbike bars from AZmotorsports (the bikemasters) and see if they are a good compromise between the agressiveness of the drags and the comfort of the dirtbike bars.

Ah, you mean the amount of energy required to leverage wider bars is less!

I have the clubman bars (The top one pictured on the website) and I love them. Picture of it

I have quite a bit of lead weight in the bars top to subside the vibes, and works well. Easy to do, looks great, and has a more sporty riding position :thumb:

I did. They are noticeably taller than the stock bars, my first impression was that they really put me up in that 'sit-up-and-beg' position, but not really, I still have a good lean forward. I do have pictures on SportBikeWorld, but they're more of the handguards than the bars. I think you have to be a member to see the larger pics. I'll post a link and maybe one of the pictures.

those look nice, what kind of hand guards are those, and where did you find them?

my hands are really the only part of me that gets cold during the fall and early spring night riding, and i've been looking for a solution. the idea i had before was to buy bars and guards from the buell city x.

how is the throttle cable length? did you have to route it in any special way?

thanks for all the help.

Acerbis. Do a search on 'Acerbis' with my name and you'll find the p/n to order. I ordered mine from my local shop.

Stock cable, no need to reroute. I did have to dremel off a minimum of a half inch off both ends to be able to use the stock cables and brake line, otherwise the bar is too wide to be able to use them.

Order the ones for the KTM SX380/EXC380; Acerbis p/n: 12548105 black; the boltholes are in better places, you may have to drill another bolthole to better position one of them (can't remember which), but you'll still have to dremel off some (& slot) to make 'em fit.
