I'd like to get in line somewhere, whenever it starts heading towards the midwest.

Kerry

Hey, and then you could DELIVER it to Ontario!   On your bike, of course.

I have not gotten it yet, but I am looking forward to doing the much needed maintenance.

I've got good vibrations today.

I finished my valves on sunday, and spent some time this morning organizing kerry's kit.  Someone (kerry?) had a plastic box with each little section inside neatly labeled.  When I got the kit everything was mixed up.

I was disturbed to see a section labeled "2.40 test shim" yet there was no shim in the section.

Noone could have used that shim for their bike.  I am hoping that kerry didn't send it with the kit, because this whole system relies on trust.

I'm going to order another test shim to keep the kit going.. but keep in mind:  When you ride a bike, bad karma is NOT something you want following you.

I got your PM cheesy and I'll be looking for it in the mail. Is there somebody on the list after me already or anybody on the westcoast who needs this anymore?

Kerry

My kit did not originally include a labeled plastic box for shims.  I think I just tossed them all into a baggie or something.  What you see (plus a CD) is what I sent out:

The ground-down test shim that I used in the video was actually thinner than 2.40mm - it was the thinnest one you can buy, at 2.15mm.  It is entirely possibly that someone needed a 2.40 to adjust their bike.

I believe I did include the 2.15 test shim (furthest left in the photo) in the kit that I sent.  But are you sure that you have my kit and not Srinath's?

there is a small shim (that is actually much smaller in diameter than the other shims... maybe that is the test shim??

This is yours... because it has the dial calipers (albeit without the cardboard box outer sheath... they are just in a plastic black box...  whereas srinath's has digital calipers.

Also, there is no gasket sealant.

and, there is a piece of paper that is a printout of a shim chart...

Yep, that would be the 2.15mm one.  It should be the thinnest one in the kit.  richard went a little overboard when grinding the diameter down.  We were just trying to make sure that any oil under the shim would be able to escape and not mess up the measurement.

I would expect the gasket sealant to be long gone by now, if folks have been using it.

No worries!  :)

okay... well that makes me feel much better!

Also, there are many more shims than in your pic.. I'd guess and say 15...  lots in the 2.55-2.75 range

kit sent to billdapart this morning...

dnorwoo

I am getting a 275 shim from the dealer  :x then I should be done.

Who is next?

PM Me

Queball

I'm in line, but I don't know where exactly.

billdapart

Received the kit this morning. I will try and get this done tonight or tomorrow and get it sent out early this week. I'll send it to Queball if he hasn't been sent to yet, otherwise...anybody else?

Kerry- I'll throw in some gasket sealant (on my way to auto parts store right now for a bulb anyway)

Need to get on the list for the east coast kit!  Not sure where exactly the detailed list of signup order is being kept.

FYI, I'm in Ohio

billdapart

So I hit a block of sorts..(i think this happened before as well)

All the shims in the box are too big for my intake valves and the local stealership has already taken a week to produce no shims (how can that even be possible) so I may have to revert to grinding down one or two of the gargantuan shims that are in there. (or just mine) Either way, I'll have this kit sent out late this week. Sorry for the delay guys.

Hey, could I be put on the list again? I think the new motor I've got needs an adjusting. -_-

richard

Since I helped to put together the original kit, think maybe I could borrow it next time it gets sent back to Kerry?  (he lives around the corner, so it's not hard to grab when it's local =])  My engine is starting to rattle, and I think I have a shim that's a little too small.

=]

Glad to see it's been used, though.

Great news! I just saved a bundle on car insurance by switching to a motorcycle!
