i bought my bike about a month ago and have racked up close to 700 miles. The dealer told me i should take it in to get it serviced but it's a bit steep ($250). Is the first service that important. Do i need to take it in or can i do most of that stuff myself. Does anyone know what exactly they do? thanks.

I always do my own services, but AS told me that the first service has to be done by a dealership to keep the warranty active.  Dunno if that's BS, but I sucked it up for this one service.
