what do you guys think?? I need a tool kit badly. I cant keep asking for to borrow my friends kits.. I figure this one seems great.. thought id run it by you, Any suggestions on anything better?I did a search on Tool kits and got an ambiguous idea of what a complete motorcycle tool kit should have. Looking forward to your replys. Im gonna go to SEARS today and check some out. Im debating weather to pick up a large set or just that motorcycle tool set.

I wouldn't buy that particular kit, but thats me. "motorcycle specific" means overpriced in my book.

Get yourself some metric sockets and wrenches (standard set should be fine. Aside from the axle nuts, 8mm-19mm should be fine if you are working on the engine. 10-19 if you aren't. If you are short on $, get the wrenches before the sockets.), a few regular screwdrivers (a long, not gigantic flatblade is useful for turning off the tank petcock), a set of screwdriver bits (for adjusting the air/fuel set screw), a set of work gloves that will insulate your hands from heat (I've burned myself more than a couple times trying to adjust my fuel mixture), a set of needlenose pliars and an impact screwdriver (if you are taking the carbs apart, this is NOT an option IMHO).

Just don't buy crap tools. I have broken enough crap to have learned that the hard way. Spend the $ on decent tools. I would suggest one of the non motorcycle-specific toolsets from sears. Craftsman may not be the best, but they are usually a lot better than the crap I buy, and their hand tools have a lifetime warranty.

Getting this tool set and this wrench set will leave you with more useful tools at about the same price.

If you read it closely it says "made for domestic motorcycles". So Goat is right about getting some metric tools. Craftsman tools are good quality but get the ones you really need so you'll have it covered.
