now along with my progressive fork springs I now have a bike that handles and feels like a small motorbike as opposed to a big marshmellow with a motor.
Until replacing both front and rear I never realised that the standard suspension is so poor I mean I knew it was soft and cheap but after doing the work and only outlaying about $350 Aust I think the standard suspension they put on is a crime, I still have to fine tune the suspension as its a little firm my size and weight but already I have better feel in the front, my brakes actually pull me up with two fingers as opposed to all four dosen't bottom out any more the rear actually gets better traction and feel, dosen't wollow any longer and the bike stays stuck to its line now instead of constantly moving around on its line it still steers like a GS500 but now it steers the way it always should have :thumb:

It's a pity the suspension on the GS's are so poor, but that's the trade off for the low price tag, you get all the bits out of the spare parts bin. We'll have to organise an AU meet so we can check out the new trick bits on your steed.

So is that Koni a made-for-the-GS or just one that fit?
And i thought Koni weren't making bike shocks any more.  All their plans etc were bought out by Ikon (anagram, get it?) and are now made right here in AUS.
When I was looking for a shock for my bike, Koni didn't even list one.

The Shock is for a GS500E it was old stock from  proven suspension in albury they are now the makers of Ikon suspension unfortantly they no longer make one under the Ikon name, I noticed when I went back through there feed back that one other shock was sold so they may even have another on the shelf or keep searching E-bay in the motorcycle spares section, the only problem is you have to take the shock out to adjust the spring its not a big job just a pain in the ass but once your happy with the spring you just adjust the dampening knob while its on the bike.
Brembo are you headed down to the nacho this weekend I may be able to meet you at Stanwell tops again to show you as I still have some fine tuning to do as its all a bit firm for me so I'll soften the front and rear and take it for a test ride.
I guess if Ikon got enough calls they would probably make some so maybe we should get the GStwin groups to flood them with inquiries. :thumb:

I might be in the park Sunday morning if my bikes fixed, was running REALLY lean so I had some bigger jets put in, but they're too big (125?). The mech's getting some in hopefully by Friday (118 or 120). If they aren't in then no riding this weekend :(

Oh, and picked up a nail in the last coupla days, repaired now, but ugh.
