GSX-R 600 motor swap - is it possible?

Is it possible to swap in an 04 gsx-r 600 motor into a 1990 GS500E? I've looked around but not found any useful information. Anyone heard of such a swap or have a link they can refer me to?

why would you in the 1st place? and i dont think theres enough room with out seriously modding the frame. And thats just from looking at my brothers gs 500 vs his gsxr 600

i tried to slip a gs frame over an old kat 600 motor about a year back and the motor was too tall

I (briefly) thought about going the other way... a 500 into an R1, damn good looking bikes but way to much power.

just buy a gixxer6 strip the fairings off, put a round headlight on it and pretent your cool

No room for carbs, no room for airbox, not high enough cradle,not wide enough cradle,basically major weld job before attempting, so i would say what davipu said
