Sv650 Muffler On GS500F??

I was considering this:

http://streetfighters-usa.com/store/product508.html

It is a blue Micron slipon for a Sv650 (99-02).

I got the idea from reading Pablo's GS500 page (http://pantablo500.tripod.com/id15.html) and (http://pantablo500.tripod.com/id40.html). It said "Fitting the stock SV exhaust muffler on stock GS pipes was a simple cut and weld job."

Has anyone done this? Does anyone see any reason for this not to work? :dunno:

Um, isn't that the cost for just the color? I don't think thats the price of the pipe itself. From what I could tell, they're only selling full systems, not slipons.

I dunno about whether or not a sv650 slipon would work on the gs. I imagine so seeing as you can use a gixxer slipon (via custom flange from srinath moto) or a WRX can, I imagine that just about anything is possible.

Its just a matter of how much effort you want to put forth and what you want to end up with.

Yeah my question was geared more toward "would it work" more than "would that specific pipe" work. I just typed in "Sv650" on that website and clicked on what I thought looked cool  :P  You are right about that specific one, after reading it more closely, but I'm thinking bigger picture like if I did find a slip-on for a Sv650 if it would work or not. Or anything. I want to try something different but don't want to dump a ton of money on something that won't even come close.

I don't have any welding tools or knowledge, so I'd have to take it somewhere. And it has to be something "doable" so a shop would atleast try.

Check out the wrx post that I linked to. Faxxxy had to bring the can to a muffler shop to have the pipes welded together. His posts on that project will give you a good idea on how much work it would be to get a non-gs, non srinath moto can onto your bike.

In all seriousness, if you're worried about how much work its going to be, buy a flange from srinath. I think that he might have an extra flange and wileyco pipe at the moment.

Yeah I thought of that but I sent him a PM but he never responded  :P  So i figured I'd try something else.
