I'm finding the black GS500F difficult to photograph.  If you take a picture of the left side when it's on the side stand, the downward lean and black paint cause all of the details to wash out.

It's not so bad when that's the biggest complaint you have about your bike

So you're gonna start seeing more shots of the right side of my bike

Neil.

Nice! I kinda wish the black was available here in the U.S. last year when I bought my "F". I had Blue or Yellow to choose from. I shoulda come up across the border :P I dunno though, I really do like my blue. It's a toss up. I like the yellow ones too. Hell I like'em all...
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

Lighting is a big part of it; midday is the worst time to take pics.  You want to take pictures either very early or very late in the day, and take them with your back to the sun.  That way, the sides of things will be well-illuminated, and you'll avoid the crazy washout/heavy shadow kind of effect you get from high, bright sun.

Overcast days are actually very good for photographs, if you have a sec to take a longer exposure.

The trick is getting your scenery to move so the sun is in the right place
