I buffed and polished my frame about a week ago and the bike looks SICK.....I had no idea how good it would turn out but I have one problem. When it rains small rust spots appear on the frame. It wasn't a problem at first because I would just buff it out but I'm not trying to do that every time it rains. I'm am looking for some sort of metal protectant that won't dull the finish. I've tried several products but they don't do what they claim to do.(Mothers,Blue Magic etc.) Any suggestion, I thought about adding a clear coat but only as a last resort. Please help

clear coat  is the only thing that will keep the rust at bay.  so in a nutshell this is what you did.  you stripped off the proctective layer of paint, smeared the pores of the metal half shut (so no paint is going to want to stick) then waxed it.         have fun.

Yea ... you polished a steel frame ... No amount of any buffing will work ... it will rust ... chrome it or put clear coat on it ... of course clear coat wont adhere too well to polished bare metal ... Powdercoat it silver ... chrome powdercoat turns black due to high aluminum in it ... so silver powdercoat ... pretty much what you had to begin with ... Put pics up if you can.
