wanted to say thanx to patrick? met ya at the lil gas station by lake solano. this site is awesome! my problem is i ran this bike outta gas. filled it back up ran fine. next day still running fine, then dies. got it goin again for a few miles then it died again. managed to coast to a gas station, and after a lil while got it runnin again and booked it home. now it wont start. fuel isnt goin from the brand new petcock to the carbs. new fuel lines. checked the valve under the tank and its fine, filter and all. the little vacuum outlet/inlet on the back of the pet chicken is not hooked up to anything, should it be? and if so what and where. oh and mine hesitates a lil when starting off too. whats up with that
:x

Yep - it should be connected to a vacuum outlet on the inboard side of the left carburetor.  (See the Fuel Hose Routing page.)

Turning the fuel selector switch to the PRIme (straight UP) position should help, at least for diagnostic purposes.  Let us know what effect that has.

ok i hooked it all up. made sure fuel lines are correct. now the right carb gets fuel but the left one doesnt. i tried to start the bike and it back fired thru the right carb, it did almost start too. whats next?

What tells you that the left carburetor is not getting fuel?  Perhaps you opened up the float bowl drain screw on that side and nothing came out?

I suppose there could be some sort of blockage between the lower T-connector (which accepts the fuel line from the petcock) and the float bowl on the left side.  :dunno:
