Gummed up carbs

OK If I have gummed up crabs - from 4 years of sitting, and it has a fuel pump Grrrr  :x  ... wouldn't it be gummed up too ...
And here is the freaking kicker ... its all sealed I believe ... how to clean it ...

pull the fuel pump off and hang it by the hose from the tank, and pour a bunch of carb cleaner in there, let it sit for about 30 min. repeat.

I probably will immerse it in a cleaner + gas bath so the In and out side will get cleaning fluid and get cleaned ... Hope that the pump part doesn't ahve any hidden parts ...

Guess what - Ennnnnnn ... No gum in the pump ... none what so ever ... looked like it was damn well new ... what gives ... Soaked it in diesel anyway ... why ... I like soaking things in diesel ...  :lol:
