By the way, I just rode for about 20 minutes with a gsxr1000, cbr600rr, bandit, ninja 500r, and one that was out in front that I didn't get to see. First time I've gotten to ride in a pack like that. Mucho cooth.

I've been riding with a couple guys for last few weekends,  even though I don't totally blend in.  There's an '04 CBR1000RR, '05 R1, '04 R1, and two other guys that ride newer gixxers, but I don't remember whether they're 600's or 750's.  

Yeah its way fun, I get to watch them do their wheelies and stoppies and chill out in the back of the pack.  
Just $4k and 8 months away from my 600cc bike...

It's not tongs, though that's in the ballpark for part of it... and it's not hot.

Maybe a rubber coated clamp for holding an ultra centrifuge tube?  But the EtBr band looks too sharp...

is the glass part a test tube?

Yep, it's a rubber-covered stand clamp... not an ultracentrifuge tube, though.

So what is the clamp holding?  Is that something we have to guess as well?
