Headlight/Parking light socket issues

I searched and found references to the bulb but no thread exact to my situation. OK Here is my issue. The position bulb that is below the headlight bulb on an 04F... Everyone know what I mean? OK moving along.

I decided to change it (194 bulb) to something that matched my headlight bulb. It is very hot today and when I removed the socket from the headlight, the rubber socket tore apart.  :x  :x It has a small channel in it that goes on the headlight similar to a grommet.

I managed to get it back in, but have not gone for a ride to see if it will stay in the housing.
Now the question. If I contacted my dealer tomorrow what would I need to buy to replace it? Will I need some 10 foot long harness or can the socket be snipped and a new one spliced on? Anyone have a socket they want to sell me? Thanx guys.
I would show pics but I have to find a place to host them. Last I spoke to Kerry he said he was almost full up.

ok staind is not that bad.  i've been listening to them again..

but yea, check the parts fiches on ron ayers or bike bandit to see what the part includes.  if you can get just the socket im sure u can splice it in.  go to gstwin.com and click gs info.  there is a list of parts fiche links there.

You might try to repair it with some silicone rubber, RTV. Use small amounts and gradually recover the holder. If you do it in less than 4 days, you went too fast.

I seriously doubt you can get the socket alone without a wiring harness. We would need a pic of the socket before we could be certain which one to chop out of an old wiring harness.

I knew you'd come around!

I checked all 4 fiches and none show the socket. The harness diagram shows multiple plugs going towards the front of the bike but I have no idea where that socket goes to. I will check 2morrow in the daytime and try to take pics of it. I will put them on my MSN site. Here is the link. http://spaces.msn.com/members/NYSuperman55/PersonalSpace.aspx?_c02_owner=1&_c=
I have a few pics up there now.

From the diagrams it looks like the socket wires would plug in to one of the plugs headed towards the front of the bike. Thanks for the help. I'll get pics tomorrow.

You should only need to get the short harness.  I have no idea what the part# is.  Here is a pic from my '05.  It goes from the highlighted area down to the socket...about 6 inches long.

Yeah that's it. If it isn't on any of the fiches, the dealer won't know either right? I've seen him look up for the 04 and come up with the same pictures I did. I'll bring the bike there and give a shot.

 Thanks for all your replies guys.

Ok I'm retarded. :?  It is pictured on the fiches. I only realized this after I went to the dealer. But he said it comes up as an invalid part # with Suzuki. On the BikeBandit fiche under HEADLAMP it is #3. I am gonna try calling the others listed and see what they say.
