The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

$60,000 engines in a $5,000 car.  Real smart.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

The helicopters I worked on used T58-5 engines, which were TURBOSHAFT engines. The -3 should just be an earlier version of it.  Not that much  thrust there.  :bs: So unless he has them hooked into the driveline, he's not going anywhere.

Don Garlits built a dragster using a T58-10, here's a link. It's the car on the top of the page.

Yeah, I didn't quite get that either.  Definately muchos negative points for the execution.  Obviously somebody had a set of T58s burning a hole in their hangar floor.

I would have put a Rolls-Royce 250-C40B under the hood and left it at that.  It would actually be streetable then.  God, I love that little engine.  Continuous 600 SHP with a 2.5 minute limit of about 715 SHP.   All that in a 250lb package about the size of a kitchen garbage can.  Only downside are the $24,000 service manuals.  (not a joke)

I don't think there's a single helicopter/turboprop mechanic out there that doesn't think about what to do with those "orphan" engines in the back room.   :dunno:
