Just wondering if anyone knows roughly a price on repainting a GS500 F, (also a SV 650S if possible)..
My buddy and I are wondering about repainting them, nothing super complex but enough to be different. Anyone know the price approx? (US or CDN)  :dunno:

From $20 for a rattle-can to a couple thou for dropping it at a shop for a custom sceme with mica and crap...     If I were doing it, I'd do the prep myself and drop it off at a Maaco-style place for a spray.  They're about $400 to spray a whole (already prepped) car, so I'd think less to spray plastic, but who knows.  That option ended up being cheaper than spraying it myself with the same quality paint, as they get an unbelievable bulk rate.

how bout this, how much for an airbrush capable of doing a good job on such a task and material to practice with? (used brush of course)

I am getting ready to paint mine this winter.  I was ready to buy a paint gun to hook up to the air compressor. Then a buddy that works at a glass shop said If I buy the paint he will do it at the shop. I had no idea a glass palce would need to have the equipment but free is free.

Quality paint is ridiculously expensive.  If you want to paint it yourself, you'll want, at the very least, paint with flex additive for the plastic.  You'll also want an air compressor that has a capacity that doesn't run out on you in the middle of spraying.

When my Miata was hit, I went ahead and did the prep work to get it sprayed; I asked a pair of friends who used to own a body shop if they could help me spray it.  They said buying the paint alone would cost about a grand, while having it sprayed at Maaco with the same quality paint would be about $400.  Don't underestimate the power of bulk ordering...

This is how it came out, BTW.  I miss that car.
