Well i was pretty excited friday about putting on my new chain.  I can't believe how much of a difference it made.  I put an x-ring chain on and i didn't realize how shot my old chain was until i rode my bike after installing the new one.  My throttle response is so nice.  The bike doesn't feel "clunky" at all anymore.  No jerking around when you twist the throttle.  Anyway, i also lowered the front about an inch and put on new brake pads.  Felt pretty good about it all.  Next morning my buddies wife backed over my bike.  Broke the clutch lever off, turn-signals, bent rear set in, bent the little tab on the kickstand... but that's really it, i was surprised.  But so, my bike's unrideable because of the clutch lever.  Dealership had to order the parts and they won't be in till friday(ish).  So the embarrassing part is now i'm riding my buddies ex500.   i really don't know how to describe the feeling.  Maybe kinda like the kid from American pie when he got caught on the kitchen counter?  Whatever, it's not good.
LIFE should NOT be a journey to the GRAVE with the intention of arriving SAFELY in an attractive and well PRESERVED body, but rather to SKID in sideways, CIGAR in one hand, favorite beverage in the other, body thoroughly USED UP, totally WORN OUT, and screaming WOW - WHAT A RIDE!

The 500 Ninja I rode seemed to be more peppy than the my GS, but maybe that is just me.
2000 GSX600F, 98 Plymouth Neon, 03 Pontiac Grand AM GT

Funniest name I was ever called on here "cap'n fast n' furious"

A guy once told me "having nitrous on your car is alot like dating a hot girl with a STD, your afraid to hit it because of what might happen."

Ow!

That sucks.  :( :(

Oh, and it sucks that your bike got hit, too.  ;)  :(

If I'd found a 94 or newer EX500 w/in my area for a reasonable price. I would've bought one over the GS.  The ones I rode had better front brakes, slightly better suspension, seemed peppier (prior to a rejet anyway) and didn't need an aftermarket fairing to avoid the wind blast on the highway.

Then again, I have no idea if they're as easy to work on or if parts are as cheap or as easily available as they are with the GS.

i say that kinda tongue in cheek, it definitely has more torque and is faster, but i just love my gs... i can't stand the way the ex's look and i like the "feel" of my gs vs. the ex.  the ex has a very upright seating position too.  kinda like sitting in a dining room chair...

besides, i like my bikes naked, not to take anything away from the F's.  :)
