Anybody use a helmet lock, install an aftermarket one or anything? New Haven can be a sketchy sketchy town and I can't always bring my helmet inside with me. Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Melissa

What I do is use the helmet lock that's built into the seat.. if that's not enough, I'll get my cable lock and run it through the mouth of the helmet and then through the passenger peg mounts. Keeps me happy, I don't have to worry about it. If they want the helmet that bad, they're going to have to destroy it to get it off.

Yeah I forgot to mention that the idiots who destroyed my motor before I bought the bike also lost the lock assembly and I have yet to order a new one (i know i know I'll get to it) So right now the cable is just hanging down under the plastic, all it would take is a little pull to remove my seat and walk away with my helmet. I was thinking more along the lines of bolting an after market lock on. I'd end up forgetting my cable and lock or something in my abset minded tired zomby state. Why people steal helmets in CT idk cause theres no helmet law and almost no one wears them..but whatever...

Yeah, my helmet "lock" doesn't lock either thanks to the PO... shh, don't tell. You can't see the lock if you put the helmet on the left side where it should be, so I don't think anyone knows any better, you'd have to at least know what you were looking for, which is possible. That's why I just run the cable. I keep it coiled up under the seat when I'm not using it, that way it's always w/ me.
