I was at work the other day and i happend to ride my gs and usually like allways i get off my 600 and go to my gs it kinda sux on the open road after about 110 but anyway ive been thinking for a while of a way to make a custom ram air intake and i finally got an idea with some plastic tube, not sure what you would call it but it had just enough bend in it and fit over the back of the carbs and wraped around to catch incomming air when traveling down the road so i temped them on pretty good to see if it was worth my while and it helped alot above 80mph or so , i mean didnt make it by anymeans a super bike but with the extra air being forced in at higher speeds definatly a really nice boost but any way , it leads to my question. I need some type of screen for this system to filter out bugs and dirt etc. i shortly took this off to put my k&n's back on but if anybody has any idea's of a material i can use i would appreciate it , but i dont want something too dence and kill the whole purpose. I thought if just buying a cheap k&n look alike and using the filter element from it.

BTW this was just a test to see if the ram air would work very good im planning on making a more attractive , economical system and ill let yall know.  But if you guys have any idea's on any of the above feel free to give any input.

You will need some way to put pressure in the tank as well - otherwise as soon as the ram air effect is greater than the pressure caused by the hieght of the gas colum - gas will not flow and it will fuel starve

yea i thought about that and i think thats going to be my main problem , i didnt ride it enough to get to that point yet , any ideas?

my pet chicken recently went to the crapper after a stint in storage so i traded it for a universal inline on/off knob and ran straight line from my tank and since have never had any problems with carbs starving , i actually have to turn it to half off too keep from flooding so im hoping that wont be too big if a problem unless im wound out tight for several minutes.

That indicates that your floats are not working correctly - either one or both are set too high or the float seat & needle are worn & should be replaced.

Sorry, I just found this funny.

If you're looking for a new, stock frame petcock, let me know. I bought a replacement and ended up not using it.
