So I called State Farm today about insurance quotes since I'm looking at getting a new bike next year (March/April).  Seems that for any 2005 600-650cc bike it's only going to cost me $260 for full coverage.  So those of you looking for cheap rates and have a car, move it over to State Farm and get cheap motorcycle rates (I'm 28, married with no accidents/tickets and have 2 cars and renters insurance with them)

wow....nice rate....mine with Am. Family just dropped big time....went from $550 yr to $375 yr.....27 yr ol' married man.....msf....1 ticket, speeding, 12/03......1 car, renters, & life ins. on policy as well...

I'm kinda surprised that it's $260 on ANY 600 - 650cc bike......something like a GS, SV, 599, etc.....sure.....but something like a CBR600rr or ZX600rr, I'd be kinda sketchy about.....but hey, if that's all it costs, then by all means......

PETE: No, it's not. It's funking Sunday. And I've got to go to funking work in four funking hours 'cos every other funker in my funking department is funking ill! Now can you see why I'm SO FUNKING ANGRY?

ED: Funk, yeah!

Sounds pretty good to me...  But, calling 3-4 places is always a good idea.

Or you can call an agent...  They can search through just about everyone to find the best rate for you.  (Just don't go with GMAC)

State Farm is good... they only look at the engine size and year... They're not worried about the crusier sportbike thing...

I havent got my insurance for my bike yet but, 20 year old male, 2 exhibition tickets, 1 speeding, and 1 failing to stop.  I might have to get a second job for insurance

Being an insurance agent I'll agree.... The company I work for doesn't sell bike insurance but I've written a lot of high risk policies for cars... They're not cheap. I'm not sure about the exhibition tickets but I imagine they're not going to help you any... The good news.. usually after three years you're clear...

I used to be in High Risk when I had my mustang a few years ago (V8+Convertible = expensive), but i'm in the normal category now.

I actually asked my agent about the type (Daytona 650 vs ZZR-600) and she said she only needed the CCs.  So I'm in the hunt for a comfy 600 for next spring.

The sad part is that accidents and tickets dont influence your insurance rates as much as your credit score does... I have a friend who has had 2 DUI's .. I have no tickets in 10 years and his (car) insurance is cheaper than mine !?!?!

So if you have bad credit, it will effect your rates more than tickets!.. bunch of crap..  :nana:
