brake pad write up anywhere?

does anyone have a write up on installing the front pads?  i did a search w/ nothing.  

basically, while putting on new tires, my interior pad just fell out.  it doesnt seem to be held on very well by he little clips on each side, and i am wondering if i am missing parts or something  :dunno:

they are holding on fine now but i just want to make sure i did it right.

i myself JUST picked up some front sintered pads from EBC and also would like a write up. If i recall i saw a thread with pictures, i am in the process of looking for it. If you find it 1st post it plz. Thanks guys.

im fed up with the front caliper myself.  i've done brakes before on other bikes and this looks to be the same... i just cant figure it out tho!?!

There's a step by step in my Clymers that's pretty decent. I've never done bike brakes before, but lots of cars/trucks. As long as you don't accidentally grab the brake lever and push the pistons way out, it's cake. Just put it back together the same way it came apart.

It usually helps to take a screw driver or something and push the pistons back in w/ the old pads so you don't scar up your new ones.

PS - stefman, you might want to search around about sintered pads.. seems like I've read about those eating up our stock rotors pretty quickly.

Ive had sintered on the rear for almost 2000 km now and i love them. They squeak a bit but thats to be expected with these pads. My rear rotor seems fine, so i am not that scared to try em out on the front.

Not exactly, but something kinda close.  Unfortunately, the pictures are for a '96+ front caliper, so yours will be somewhat different.  (Ignore the last picture.  I took this series to help someone get their pads unstuck, after they did exactly what treybrad warns about in his post above.)

I would do a real writeup, but JamesG got me all self-concious about my "nasty caliper", and I'm too lazy to clean it up!   :roll:

Just bought the EBC Sintered HH pads for front and rear and I love them.  Way better than the crap it had when I bought it.

Front pads were a PITA to get on there.  I used the caliper piston spreader tool for a car with a little piece of wood to get the pistons back in.

Go with EBCs they are awesome (I have the green stuff pads on my car also from EBC).

I now have sintered on the front and rear. I installed the front pads last night. Took like 30 minutes to let the anti squeal to dry. Easy to do though. Cant wait for the pads to be broken in so i can test out these puppies
