OK I have flanges ... there is a small caveat ...
There is 5 total ...
1 for new GS - choked.
2 for old GS choked.
2 for old GS and needs re-riveting of the end cap (these were supposed to be mine but I sold the 2 wiley co's in a moment of broke-ness) ... so nothing has been made to fit them ... but they are real high exit ones ... burn your Turn signal high ... and they are non choked.
In a pinch You can fit a Old GS one on a new GS ... may have to take it to a muffler shop and spread the free end an 8th of inch ...
New GS flange will fit old GS as is ...
I would like to make sure UPS/USPS hasn't lost the flanges I sent out earlier this week ... and then these are available ... sorry for that ... but UPS/USPS insurance can only pay $$ these are sorta irreplaceable ... so I wanna take care of that little issue first.
Cool.

Lol just my luck you only have 1 flange for an 05 and it's already taken.  If you happen to come accross another one please let me know.

Come across ... What ... You know I make them right ... OK used to make ... In a pinch an old flange can be fitted on a new GS ... just spread the end to the right size ... or try sliding it inside your header ... but that way you'd need a tighter fit ... else it will leak ... heck weld it on ... muffler shops can do that for like next to nothing ...
Cool.

Hey Srinath, are you feeling any better? (hopefully)

The Buddha

Nope ... but OK I am stressing and at work ... and I am in just about as much pain as I was in on Saturday ... when I was lying in bed ...
Alkyhol works great to lighten up the pain ... the damn celebrex and sheite does nothing ... wish I can be a little drunk right now ... anyway ... by weekend if it doesn't clear up I am running back to doc ... and getting better drugs ...
Cool.

Well I got my flange and bars today.

Wasn't I supposed to get the 4 weld bars for an 04 F model?

Ha ha ... yea and the answer is you do ... but the new 4 weld bar only has 2 welds ...    ... I bent the inside in tighter ... and hence 2 welds are = 4 ... Install it and see ... the damn thing was more trouble than it was worth ... but from a user's point of view its a better product ...
Cool.

Wow I got my flange today too 8)

Upon inspection I got a choker. I think...not really sure but it has the tip blocking flow welded on to where the mounting bolts go. Not a big deal I'll drill a series of small holes in it and hit it a few time with a hammer then file it smooth. Should be good to go :thumb:

How many exhaust gaskets is recomended? I don't think my one that came with the pipe is thick enough to get a reall good seal.... :dunno:

Only question I have floating around in my mind is should I taper the flange opening to fit over the exhaust header?

The Buddha

Yea you can break off the choker ...
Also what you mean taper the end to fit yout header ??? its made to fit a header already ... no tapering needed ...
Cool.

I had to modify/sand/grind the bars to get them to work.

You might want to go back the old 4 weld style.  Where you put the tighter bends it actually put the bend into the clamps a little bit + too thick of powder coating.

The flange worked out pretty good though.  It's a lot higher exit than stock and I love it.

Yea ... I should quit making them ...    ... I have ...
The 10 or so I made ... I lost like 6 ... the lighter bend in the 2 welds was great, but steel started behaving more and more inconsistently with the tighter bend, the tubing was collapsing, it was spreading in the perpendicular direction ... and of course the bounce back was un predictable and in consistent as well ... which was the worst ... But In all I liked the new ones better ... But if I am doing more I'll go to the old style ... easier to make, and easier to jig up as well ... Sanding the powder ... yes that's inevitable ... maybe I can mask off the parts where switches go ... but if you sand it usually you can leave a small layer of coating on it and it protects it too ...
Cool.

Come on Srinath, if you totally stop making this stuff who is going to help the GS community ?
