Accident on my new bike....Damn!

I just finished up my final class to wrap up my business degree (that makes 3 bachelors now, don't ask why), and am riding to my friend's house to party.  I get to his street (small residential), and am 4 houses away from his place when some jackass in a subaru wagon pulls out of his drive in front of me.  I locked up the rear and before I can react, I'm sliding down the road.  I was only going about 35 but the bike slid all the way to my friend's driveway.  He comes out to see the Subaru go flying off down the street.  I'm still in the middle of the road and a car behind me(that saw everything), f%$king pulls around me and drives off!!  I HATE CAGERS!  Anyway, I think I'm done riding for a couple years,  I broke my wrist, dislocated my shoulder and have road rash all over (I was wearing racing gloves, Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket, AGV X-Vent helmet and thick work jeans... all torn to shaZam!).    Well, here's to another degree....

I'm waiting to hear the answer to that one myself. I wear a fieldsheer mesh jacket.
My diatribe is over!

That last post was a bit misleading, the jacket held up great, as did the helmet, they did exactly what they were supposed to.  They protected me.  They're ruined now, but they did what they were supposed to.  My gloves (alpinestars with carbon fibre knuckle protectors) were shaZam!, ripped clean off my left hand and tore through the palm on the right.

That sucks.  How did the bike fare?

You going to be alright?

And, uh, I have a Joe Rocket Pheonix Jacket. . .

The bike had a $2000 paint job, that's totally f%&ked.  Front fairing is a total loss,  I'm not all that concerned, I figure I'll spend this winter switching her to a streetfighter and sell her come next summer.  Aside from the fairing, the clutch lever is trashed, and she wont start(probably a gas line sever).  Nothing much aside from that, held up really well, just the fairing.

SO, if the guy is only 4 houses from your friends, you know how to find the guy...
GO GET HIM... :guns:  :guns:

The cop first on the scene rides a 929RR so he was cool, when he asked the neighbor who was in the drive, the guy said he didn't know and that the guy must have been turning around (which I think is bullshit).  Anyway, I just got 1000 rounds for my AK-74, so I think I'll be spending a lot of time waiting around that guys house, see who pops up.  :guns:
Also, without actually hitting his car, there's really nothing legally I can do, but shooting his ride still seems like a viable option.

Heal up, and I hope you feel better. Wellwishes to you, and I'll pray for ya, too. Hope things work out.

One thing people can't take away from you is your education.

Yeah - lessons like, any cage in an alley or driveway is going to pull out without looking.  I just assume that now.  Cages suck.

If the clutch lever is trashed, it might be the clutch interlock switch that's causing the bike to not start.  The slider of the switch fits into a hole on the lever, and when the lever gets screwed, the switch can pop out of that hole and cease to work.

are you refering to the sensor on the switch box hooked to the clutch lever, if so then yes that often jars loose and is designed to sense when your clutch is pulled in so you can start your bike, just plug it back in and go, after one of my accidents it took me five minutes to realize that!
