I have searched on this, but I wasn't able to find anything so here it goes....

Has anyone ever seen or installed one of these integrator kits?

My only concern would be the visibility, but I don't think that it should be much worse than mounting the light directly on the side or under the brake light on the fender.  

Also, unlike the cheap knock-offs, this kit is supposed to actually flash the light when turning and not just cause it to dim.

What do you think?

Did anyone ever do this? It would be a nice way to really clean up the rear of the bike, thats for sure. I just know I'd frog it up somehow though.

I have the led integrator  and they`re awesome much brighter than stock!

why is it so expensive? I guess because all of the parts are custom fabbed to fit perfectly.

I'm sure someone with electrical experience could design one. All you are doing is combining the brake light circuit with the turn signal circuit.

That is the same product I bought, just bought it directly from the company who makes it.  

It is a great product, easy to install and works really well.

Plus it provides the extra visability that I was looking for.

Yeah a write up or some pics? Something to help those of us that know close to nothing, like me?  :mrgreen:

I can snap some pictures tomorrow of the installed product but the installation is pretty straight forward.  If I remember correctly you only have to cut two wires, the positive to the left brake light and a posititve to the right brake light.  The integrator is wired in series w/ those wires and that gives it the ability to control how it flashes.

There are some vampire taps that you use to connect the integrator to the turn signal lamp wires to be used as "source" to tell the integrator when to flash the tail lamps.

In all it is probaby a 30 minute installation.

Why spend 4x the cost of a trailer wiring converter that does the same thing?

The only issue you may have is the signal will flash faster when the brakes are applied. This is due to a change in resistance to the stock flasher relay. This can be fixed with a couple of resistors or change the flasher to an electronic unit.

Does the relay cause the brake lights to flash when braking as well?  This is one of the reasons I wanted the kit, so that the brake lights would flash together when braking.

No. Flashing brake lights are annoying and confusing to the driver behind you, they do not know what you are doing. They are illegal in some states.

I was behind a Goldwing that had a kit liek that installed. Whenever he would break, the lights would flash. The first couple times I was like "hm..what the.." but then it was actually kinda neat since it was a foggy morning, it did increase his visibility. I dunno if I'd want mine to do that though.  :dunno:

I do want to see how the kit looks on the GS500 ('F' in particular). I think it would look good!

Exactly. I am all for just about anything within reason to decrease the chances of being hit by a car.

Since it is annoying I bet that you don't bother flashing your brakes when it looks like a car is approaching too quickly from behind, then do you.

You better make sure both bulbs have the bright filament fully functional every time you ride. If one of them is burned out, when you hit your brakes it will look like you have your turn signal on.
