On my second nighthawk I was riding along 237 on my commute waaaay back in 1997 when my left side cover (under seat) flies off ... I am so diasppointed (its a pretty bike really) and I cry and grovel and what not and go and buy a red one from the SF cycle salvage (closed now) for $15 ... Then I have an ugly red cover on my pretty blue bike ... and I am riding along 237 next week when I spot a blue speck ... I ride past it ... but pull over (left lane carpool whooo hooo) on left shoulder ... and walk back and pick it up ... a few few scrapes ... but nearly perfect ... Then in 1998 I sell off that bike to this friend ... who now lives in Livermore CA ... where I used to live ... Then in 2001 I buy a nighthawk ... and its the same color as my #2 ... and I promptly swap with him ... so on my nighthawk I have that old cover I lost and then found on 237 almost 8 years ago.

Glad that worked out for ya'!! Now...if only I could fine a purple tank at the side of the road....and a purple fender...and purple plastics.... I'll have to keep my eyes open!  

As for this morning, my boyfriend's first thought was that someone had thrown something at me. I told him, naw..Srinath lives on the other side of the country.     :kiss:

Sorry to hear about the mirror and the hand.  But look on the bright side, if things keep hitting you, you could paint the new replacement parts purple and before you know it you would have a completly purple bike

My not professional opinion is to watch carefully newspapers looking for a news about a rare bird extintion, perhaps the object that hit Pandy's mirror was the last of a kind...
